Rubber Stamps - Woodware - Jane Gill

For me, stamping happened quite by accident. I used to paint furniture and accessories for the home and went to a craft shop to buy some paint. The shop happened to have an amazing stamping demonstration that weekend. I bought some of their products, tried it that evening and as I was so impressed, took my work back to the shop to show the owner, she instantly asked me to begin teaching!
That was about 14 years ago.

Like many artists, that first stamping experience led me from one medium to another, eventually gravitating toward greeting cards. I enjoy all aspect of cardmaking and have a great passion for anything ‘fiddly’! With a degree in botanical and natural history illustration I’m always drawn towards flowers and am a member of the Floral Punch Craft Teachers Guild.

I love to share my ideas and techniques and hopefully inspire others through my demonstrations and teaching around the UK. I’m very lucky to be able to use my creative talents in so many ways, from furniture design to watercolour, from rubber stamping to papercraft. And now I can add stamp designing to my portfolio.

Woodware has given me a fantastic opportunity to join their ‘team’ of stamp designers. I can’t tell you how excited I am with my first five sets of clear stamps about to go on sale. I’ve so enjoyed collecting ideas, creating the drawings and finding out about the manufacturing process too.

I hope I have created some fun ideas for you to use, so think of me here in sunny West Sussex with my two cats as I start creating some more ideas for next time.
